The Badger was unspeakably ancient, one of an elder order of earthly spirits, having walked in the guise of a man for hundreds of years. He traveled the length and breadth of the continent, and in his travels he reforested the scorched slopes of mountains with his great, gentle hands; he subdued the bucking and twisting earth beneath his broad, clawed feet; and he befriended heroes from varied lands with his vast, uncompromising heart.

Rou has two forms - that of a man and that of a badger so large it makes bears look like newborn pups. He has an unhealthy obsession with the short story (it boggles his immortal mind how a few thousand years could possibly be contained in a few thousand words).

His best friend is Ailan. His wife is a schoolteacher. He has one child, Eirendi.

Thus we'll pursue our own avatars
And we'll meet again in the River of Stars

Uhh yes. I did change Lin's name.
And the small brother person is disturbed at the discovery that to draw Eiri's father, you simply draw Eiri... and add a beard.

"To speak truthfully, spirits are no more than ordinary people, only with stouter hearts. There's no such thing as a true 'spirit'. I am just a peacemaking, jesting old man."
